Just was able to buy one a minute ago.
6 month reagent was in stock yesterday.
is it worth the money? Thanks for posting this. While I am not personally looking for one (I already own one) just wanted to say thanks. Believe it or not these threads are how a couple of us have purchased one. The initial thread was updated by people looking and a couple of us people remembered and went the extra mile to post, PM, and even offer to text if they came across one.
Again - thanks and have a wonderful day!
This is somewhat of a subjective question and depends on how much you enjoy testing and what your time is worth to you. I don't mind testing from time to time but testing for Ca and Alk multiple times a day, for me personally, is a drag. This unit does not do anything novel, it is simply automated. IF it does what is purports to, then yes, for me it is worth the money.is it worth the money?

thanks!Interesting question. I think if you are in the Neptune ecosystem it is a good choice, yes. I do. It saves time testing, known tests, known technology, and it is repeatable. It really is consistent. It is using older technology to some so it may be a turn off. At the end of the day it works, and works well. Affordable. 6 month reagent pack is worth it.
If you do not have a current controller then you have choices today at least by two well known, and great, manufactures. Neptune and GHL make great controllers. I'm not going to say one is better than the other but they are good and work. Known. So here I"m saying if you don't own a controller the entry price is different and you can choose the Trident and GHL product once it is out here in a month give or take. I can't say what exactly it does but it uses probes and a reference or calibration fluid combon - someone can clarify so please do not take my word as gospel or fact please. That wouldn't be right nor my intent. It uses a ION probe.
Back to your question "is it worth the money". Short answer is yes. I'm not one to do water tests and I honestly test those that are easy and consistent. So Hanna checks of phosphate and ALK won out. This just makes my maintenance routine easier and it does save me time. Time is money. So yes when I answer yes it is to me.
That is about as unbiased of an answer I can give you. Math was simple and technology didn't phase me. I'm in Neptunes space, I like them, they have treated me well, and been reliable. So 600 bucks and a few months chasing unicorns I can honestly say yes.
Hope this helps. Oh, I will also say one more thing. Let us say you have GHL, or thinking of it. I think that one will also be of value and worth it. Have a great day.
I have not had time to read up on its accuracy yet. I am pleased it does because I just recently acquired one.Good reply. Just wanted to take this nugget out.
It isn't about If it does what it is purported. "IT" actually does what it says it does and is accurate. There is enough data out there now to support this if that makes sense. Not sure if you own one or not.
Still - well said so ty.

On a complete side note in another aquarium forum back in 2018 you responded to me when I was looking for Pukani, nice to see you again.
I'm not going there. Hope your Friday is going well.
