I bought an alkatronic because I can’t imagine this thing will hit the market any time soon. I love the idea of it, but if it ends up like the COR, it gonna be a while...
I think you’re missing my point slightly. I have invested thousands of dollars into apex gear because I think it’s of good quality and works quite well. The COR is no exception. My setup uses Varios pumps, which work fine with the Apex, and I consider on par with the COR, but I needed pumps, and was tired of waiting for the COR, no matter how perfect it may be. The same applies to the Trident.
The COR is certainly a great pump, but you have to admit the 2 to 3 year delay, from introduction to market, was a bit crazy. The FMM (which I have) was quite a long road, too.
I hope Neptune releases on schedule, and I may very well sell my Alkatronic to get a trident, but considering my location, I may be able to get a Trident imported, but I have no idea if I’ll be able to get reagents, which obviously limits the usefulness of the product. The good news is I have all monitoring right now, and I’m happy as it shows up in my dashboard.

Sometimes you do more damage than good by announcing something too soon which is what I think they have done a couple times. So in this case they have some learning to do.
Same thing with a vectra m1 look at the gph chartNow you got me. The one thing they gain by an early product announcement is generating chatter and sitting people on a fence. I jumped off the fence for now, but I’m certainly keeping an eye out for the Trident.
Had Neptune released the COR just a few months earlier, I’d probably have 4 of them, just like the Varios’ I have, but they didn’t and I moved on. I’m much more likely to pick up the Trident if I can get reagents, but I’ll probably never swap out my pumps.
The other thing I find interesting is that the 2016 brain is easily available separately here, but not stateside. Not sure why that is or if the vendors here sell them because shipping things to CA to get fixed isn’t a reality.
*edit to add: Don’t think anyone can convince me the COR != Varios in terms of legit functionality. Sure, there is a bit tighter integration between the two with 1Link and some other advanced statistics, but as far as moving water as a function, I consider them equals.
Unless we are talking Japanese Fiscal Year, we are already a month into Q3 and I don't think NSI users have it. I'm thinking November or December at best and that's if the China tariffs haven't seriously screwed up the supply chain.I was told Q3 by one of Neptune's outside sales reps. Maybe BRS is just hedging their bet.
Yeah, at this point I'm seriously doubting Neptune's ability to bring this thing to market anytime soon. With several competitors near or already at market (ReefBot, Auto Balance) - Neptune might be reconsidering their strategy. Either way - a public statement needs to be made.Bueller? Bueller?....Bueller?
Well, I just spoke to BRS and they said they are thinking christmas this year. Another 6 months waiting...
This is a trident forum please keep it that wayI got mine yesterday!!!
soo stoked!! Not hooked up yet but still excited.
