Thanks that's what I need to know I do not have a par meter but need on and I was thinking about this one not sure still but Thank youI have it and use it periodically. It works but there are a few drawbacks. IMO, there is not much need to leave it in the tank. So would be handy if it came with some way to hold it at various heights in the tank and get measurements, But because it uses fusion, you have to keep refreshing the screen on your phone or tablet to get and updated reading.
I actually dropped my phone on the tank while trying to do this. LOL.
All in all I would have preferred a portable unit which reads instantly.
I use it. I do leave it in the tank minus occasional cleaning. I get pretty close to real time readings when using the Apex Local instead of Fusion. I've added programming to it to be a fail safe alarm if I manually leave my lights on past a specific time. I use T5/Radion hybrid so I am hoping to see a PAR drop when the T5's are at end of life but I haven't got there yet. I still have plenty of life on my bulbs. I am also trying to see when I need to change carbon or algae growth in tank based off a PAR drops. You can do things like overlay PAR graphs over light schedule graphs to be a better indication of what your lights are doing.
I haven't had it long so I'm more or less experimenting with it now. Is it something you need to run a tank with a Apex? No... and of course there are cheaper PAR meters. Its just something to give you more information. Its the difference between a meter and a monitor that I like.
I use the ip address.Good feedback, I don’t seem to be able to connect vial Apex Local on my iPhone or iPad. I can only connect to local via my PC. How do you connect to Apex local?
I use the ip address.
