Recently set up my new tank and I’m undecided where I want to place my Nero 3. Tank is going to be SPS dominant. Swapped out the return pump for a quieter one that produces ~160gph. Not sure if I’m going to get something stronger.

Im debating on whether to put it on the front in the top left or somewhere on the side. I’m leaning towards the front but would like some advice.

nano dropoff? How big is this?

I would go with 2 nero3's and just turn them down till your frags grow into colonies. You'll appreciate being able to turn them up later down the road.

Id say go in the back wall somewhere to try and create as much current through out the entire tank! Nero 3s are powerful little buggers so you will be able to get a lot out of it!
I’d love to put it on the back wall but I don’t trust the magnet being submerged in saltwater

Tank is only 20 gallons. I feel like 2 Nero 3s would be a bit of overkill

Im About 2x the size of your display but I run 2 Nero 3s. One on back wall in the top left the other on the right side but right up near the front glass. I moved mine around a lot looking for the best spot for flow. I think if you did it on the front of the right panel and aim it halfway back on the left wall then you will get a good gyre started in the tank and your returns will help disrupt that flow to make it a little more random/turbulent.

Photo is from a couple weeks ago the pump on the back has returned to the back wall. But the one in front is in the same spot just angled to the back more.

I would place them on the overflow. Being a drop off, you would be able to create some great flow. The magnets are submersible. That’s one of the advantages of this awesome pump!
