Wow! I mean WOW! I saw 3 or 4 of my Nessarious snails in this plant the other day and they were there for like 2 days or so. I thought it odd but didn't think anything of it. Now I look and there are 1000's of eggs (at least)!

What do I do? I'd love to rear these but have no idea really how to raise them. Will the hermits eat them? What do I need to supply for food for them?

This tank was slated to be shut down when I finished transferring the occupants to my new tank. Now I might need to keep it up as a snail hatchery. I could put this entire tree into the new tank but I am afraid the newness of the tank will be bad for the baby snails.

How often do Nassarius breed in aquariums? I heard it is rare.

Sorry about the closeup pics I used my macro lens.

I can confirm that mine do breed in the aquarium and the hatchlings can survive. I have hermits so they probably get some of them, but I always see new little ones.

Good luck raising yours and if you have too many feel free to send some more my way for diversity ;)

That's awesome!
