Netting around overflow box teeth?

Hi,

I've had a chromis and a peppermint shrimp end up in my filter sock in my sump... both were alive and are fine today.

i'd like to prevent this moving forward.

I'm curious what people use to stop this from happening? I was thinking about weaving some soft of screen between the teeth. What do you use?

I'd be careful that whatever you use could not get clogged and restrict flow enough to cause the tank to overflow

Thank you for the advice. I went to the hardware store, bought a roll of black plastic gutter guard, and installed in in 5 min. Looks incognito and like it'll work just fine!
