As the title states, I have never had any since day one when the tank was set up. Did I just get extremely lucky with good live rock? I completely skipped the initial cycle due to the amount of bacteria that survived during shipping. I have never kept a marine tank that didn't at least show Nitrates at some point. The tank is now almost 7 months . Is my water to pure? I currently just have some LPS, fish, and inverts. My maintenance is nothing extreme......10-15% water change each week. Running GFO and a skimmer. I am definitely not complaining.....just confused lol.

I have used Nutrafin, API, and Salifert just to verify. I also had the water tested by the LFS several times over the last 6 months. Like I said, I can see not having Ammonia or Nitrites but Phosphates and Nitrates?? I guess the combination of quality live rock and GFO (as well as being understocked) is keeping everything in check....for now anyways.
