Dipped some new corals today and saw this critter swimming around. Can’t assume it’s a good thing!?!

I know it's not one, but those 'arms' look a little bit like the tentacles of a small curly-Q anemone. But again, I know it's not, it moves more like a tiny octopus!

Good luck and I hope somebody can give a good ID!

I don't know what it is or if it's good or bad, but it is a pretty cool looking hitch hiker. Did you save it or did it die from the dip?

When I found it in the dip I transferred it to this freshwater container to observe it. Unfortunately that container I used is sitting on my basement table

Really cool! I agree with Ron, it looks like some kind of anemone but I sure didn't know they could move like that. Hopefully someone will know what it is!

The tentacles look very much like brittle stars and the number count appears to be 12......could it be two brittle stars mano a mano?

OR, conjoined?

OR, turn the lights down and put on some smooth jazz?

my vote is an octopus anemone swimming.

google stripped sand anemone. Thats tbe closest I found to yours

Swimming anemone, a few vid on YouTube about it, can be a heck of a pest on home aquaria as they multiply fast similar to aptasia.
