neverdie's 30 gallon stand and tank build

I am continuing to work on the stand, also I removed the masking from the back in anticipation of fuge lighting as a X-mas present and for the ATO sensor.

Any ideas for any more a I add to the stand

Final scape adjustment

I have been following along with yours as well, how are you progressing?
I love the dimensions of this tank, but I know you are going to drill one rather than go AIO which is super cool, but certainly more complicated than my build

i raised the height of the overflows after noticing low water levels in NUVO tanks thanks DentistReefer413.

Stand is 95% finished, going to add paper towel rack and shelf in the AM.

I'm happy with the set up so far and getting wet tomorrow.

I got it online (Etsy) and I didnt do a good job putting it on. Otherwise I am happy with the progress, thanks for the tips on the stand I added a bunch of panels and bracing and it is very solid now.

And we are wet!

Now its time to start thinking about what I'm going to put in here.
A pair of Pink Skunk Clowns are the only livestock that I am certain about.
Suggestions?

I'm fired up and happy to be back in the hobby. I have been reading tons of threads and this project will hopefully reflect those influences. I will be picking up my IM 30 L in about a week. Today I finished the stand frame and will be working to skin it this week. I based the stand design on what I found here https://www.porsa.dk/produkt-kategori/akvarieborde/

Putting this together has been fun, I feel that the leveling feet really added to this build, in the past I was unhappy having to shim stands. My goal for this week is to skin the stand and begin to work on the undertank set up.

I look forward to feedback that will no doubt aid me with this project.

Stylish, minimalist, and, as Bruce says, leaves a good amount of working room.

So I failed on my attempt to raise the height of the overflows, I think I was hesitant to use a lot of silicone. I will be trying again in a few days

Dust has settled

Big chunk of coral skeleton in the bag of sang, I'm gonna keep in in there and see if i can get something to encrust.
Now just waiting.

I had success raising the water level. I purchased the IM fish guards and put black silicone on the holes up to the second row and it has raised the water level to the desired height.

Additionally once the tank temp stabilized I added mature ceramic media from my preferred LFS, and added some hermits.

Hermits are doing well, water parameters look good and I got my first fish.

A pair of Pink Skunk Clowns (Sustainable Aquatics via LFS), I acclimatized them and placed them in the tank. As soon as I placed them in the tank, before I had time to put the top back on the male jumped to the back of the tank. Got him back in the DT, eating well but chilling at the back of the tank/hosting on overflow so please excuse the poor picture.

Beautiful tank and stand. I love the Octopus detail. I'm not typically a minimalist fan, but yours is gorgeous.

Thank you for the support and encouragement. I don't really think of myself as a minimalist.

A little update.

I have added frogspawn, duncan and hammer corals. The pink skunks are still hiding in the back hosting on the overflow but they are coming out a little more. I have also added several frags: chalice, rhodactis, gsp, orange lepto, blasto and birdsnest (x2) all but the blasto seem growing and have adapted to the tank well.

This week the IM fuge light will arrive and I will set up the right overflow with cheato. Additionally I will add a royal gramma in the next week or two. I have had a huge pod explosion within the tank along with some algae growth. I have removed one filter sock (in prep for the fuge) and replaced the other.

Future plans are to get an artfully acrylic top, plant some macro algae in the display, and decide on centerpiece corals for the arch and the sand below.
Right now I think that a torch coral will go on the arch but as for the sand below I am open to suggestions.

What do you think I should put in the there? it cant be a scoly
