New 10 gallon freshwater tank

I recently purchased a 10 gallon waterbox fish tank been Cycling since yesterday now do I wait 2 weeks like saltwater or less weeks

Freshwater i have had good results using a bacterial startup product and then adding 1-2 fish and have yet to get an ammonia reading afterward. I think most ammonia test kits will work on freshwater as well. I would say pick up some kinda "Safe Start" product and your first smaller fish and monitor from there.

I'd personally get some bacteria in there first, I believe they still sell the freshwater bio-spira at petsmart. I would add some of that and let it colonize your filter for 5 -7 days before adding fish.

freshwater takes generally take just as long as saltwater tanks do, it is just that freshwater fish tend to be hardier and more tolerable with respect to nitrogen cycle chemicals (ammonia and nitrite specifically)

I was thinking of maybe starting with 3 plaites fish then go from there
