Thanks for the advice I ordered a test kit already then I’ll take it from there I’m not gonna rush this eitherFreshwater i have had good results using a bacterial startup product and then adding 1-2 fish and have yet to get an ammonia reading afterward. I think most ammonia test kits will work on freshwater as well. I would say pick up some kinda "Safe Start" product and your first smaller fish and monitor from there.

I was thinking of maybe starting with 3 plaites fish then go from therefreshwater takes generally take just as long as saltwater tanks do, it is just that freshwater fish tend to be hardier and more tolerable with respect to nitrogen cycle chemicals (ammonia and nitrite specifically)
