Hey folks just wanted to share my new build for a 100g tank. I'm getting back into the hobby after taking a 12 year break. This time I'm going with more automation to make it more manageable. This past weekend I finished the control panel and hope to be adding some new inhabitants very soon!

Ready for some new inhabitants!

I have been busy setting up my next tank, a waterbox Infinia 230.6. But figured I should give an update on my IM ext 100. After 2.5 years it has been running great. I had to add 2 more lights as 2 Kessil A360x lights was not enough to grow SPS in this tank. Everything is thriving now and I’m just sitting back and watching everything grow out.

Current tanks inhabitants are

Fish:

One spot Fox face
Bristle tooth tang
Melanurus wrasse
Black ice clownfish pair
Royal gramma
Blue Chromis (4)
Pajama cardinals (2)
Banggai cardinals (2)
Starry blenny

Inverts

Pin cushion urchins (2)
Tuxedo urchin
Serpent starfish
Scarlet cleaner shrinp
Skunk cleaner shrinp
Various snails

Corals:

Too many to list but will try.. zoos, palythoas, rock flower anemones, candy canes, favias, torch, hammer, duncans, cyphastrea, leptoseris, micromusa, pavona, gonis, pocillopora, anacropora, montipora caps, digitata, setosa, birds nests, stylos, various acropora,

I am truly amazed that this many types of corals are all thriving under the same conditions.

This year I splurged and got a trident because it has been a challenge keeping up with the Alk and calcium uptake. I am currently dosing about 50 ml/day of BRS soda ash and calcium carbonate. The trident is doing an excellent job of keeping it stable.

Current tank parameters:

Salinity 1.026
Ph ( 8.2 - 8.5 )
Alk 8.0
Calcium 450
Magnesium 1350
Nitrate 5 ppm
Phosphate 0.1
Temp 78

Lighting schedule - 14 hours per day with a 3 hour ramp up on each end for (viewing purposes). I am running 4 kessils a360x at 80% for about 8 hours of the day. Par ranges from about 150 on the sand bed to above 400 near the water surface.

Water changes - I am using an Apex DOS to change out 1.5 gallons per day. I started this tank with tropic Marin pro salt but have recently switched to Red Sea blue bucket with no issues.

Thanks , when I bought this tank it was just the tank and stand. It seems like Innovative Marine is now selling reef ready setups so I don’t know if you can still just get the tank and stand only. I hacked up an eshopps sump to make the clarisea fleece roller fit and if I had to do it again I would not go that route. There are probably better sumps out now that support a fleece roller.
