Just got my second hand 125 gal marineland(48x24x24) and monterey stand that came with aqueon proflex sump(rated for 110 gallons) and red sea C-Skim 1800 skimmer. Just starting the build. I am planning on a reef set up and curious on how to set up my sump and refugium since my skimmer is external and they had it working in the return pump section of the sump. Does that present a problem? Does this setup prohibit pods from ever getting to the tank and does a skimmer in the return section present a problem with micro bubbles getting to my coral? I just do not want to go through the setup to only find these problems presenting. Is the sump too small for my 125 or can it still do the job? I do not want to spend the money for a new one if at all possible. Any advice is appreciated. This sump issue is the last problem I have before I start filling it.

I have waiting "in the wings" once I am comfortable with a sump/refugium setup, 160 lbs of washed carib special grade(not live), Tunze osmolator ATO and 2 Tunze 9105 and wavemaker, Two 48 inch Current orbit Pro LED's, 20 lbs of live sand and 90 gallons of live water with 100lbs of live rock thats been "cooking" for weeks.
