So I started out in the hobby last fall w/ a 29g bio cube. I got the itch and found a great 125g/55g sump tank that I will be adding to our house soon! Since the bio cube has everything I needed, I don't really know where to start with other things to get. Looking for ideas here.

Lighting - Thinking about a AI Hydra52 HD, will one be enough for a 6' wide by 29" deep tank? If it's two, that's pretty pricey. Is there a different lighting system I should look at?

Controller - Is a neptune apex controller a necessity? Talk me in or out of it.

RO Unit - I'd like to take charge of my own water production, what's a practical system?

Powerheads - I currently have 2 Ecotech Marine vortech MP10Es, thinking I'll need 2 more.

Protein skimmer - I currently have Vertex Omega 150

Heaters -

What else am I not thinking about?

Thanks for the help R2R...I will begin a tank thread once I take possession of the tank and start the process.

I like my Hydra 26 Hd's, you would need two for sure and 3 x 26's. I also like the HMS mounting.

Not talking you out of a Neptune. I controller is great to have the ability to remotely check and control the system, feed schedules, auto feeding, shutting down certain pumps when feeding and maintenance, shutting down a heat automatically so the system does not get cooked, etc.

Look for a 5 stage double active carbon RO/DI 100 GPD

Gyre 250 for the top;)

Skimmer just make sure it has a DC pump

Finnex titanium 800w that plugs into you controller

return pump, again DC. with a DC you can by bigger and turn it down
