New 125G Buildout

Yeah, I know. Using rough dimensions, I incorrectly estimated the volume to be 134.6 gallons, but the effective volume is 125 gallons. Unfortunately, I can't change the post title.

Yep i understand - on smaller tanks it is pretty close but with 1/2" glass, the outside dimensions vs the inside dimensions are significant.

I actually got the aquarium from a friend, but I couldn't locate any make/model information on the tank. I finally figured out what make and size it was with some help from R2R :)

I can change the title for you if you want. Just shoot me a pm with the new title. :-)

So, I'm leaning towards three Kessil A360we lights for my tank and supplementing with two 54 watt T5HO lamps. I will need to find another way to implement moon lighting. Thoughts or opinions?

Well, I pulled the trigger and ordered 3 Kessil A360WEs and a Reef Octopus 220INT. We will see what happens when this stuff gets here in a few days :)

Canopy has been completed. Awaiting the first coat of paint which should go on tonight :) DSC_0191.JPG

First sump functional test. All looks good. The Jebao pump is super quiet even on the highest speed (1585 GPH) :) Bubble traps are functioning properly. DSC_0193.JPG

Getting the plumbing roughed out. I haven't applied any solvent or mounted the supports yet....just trying to get an idea of the layout I will need. tmp_DSC_0194-209896383.JPG

Great looking stand, I like the idea of being able to remove the side panels. How are the side panels attached to the stand? I am looking to do the same thing, I have a steel frame and want to skin it with removable panels.

I installed some of the pipe supports. No solvent yet. I wanted to see how the sump fit into the base with the plumbing installed. To be honest, I'm kind of disappointed on how much useable room the plumbing takes up. I'll have to think on this a little longer.

If you come up with a better idea, please let me know!
I will thanks, the only other option I've seen are magnets. I plan on have the skin made at a cabinet shop because I don't have a wood shop. I will ask them if they know of any options and will let you know. Do you feel that the clips you use hold the panels in place without shifting?

Oh yeah, the clips do a good job of that...they're just difficult to align.

BTW, I don't have a wood shop either ;)

Kessils, Reef Octopus and a whole lot of other stuff should be arriving tomorrow! Hope I can get some sleep tonight :)
