Hi, I'm just upgrading to a new 150 Gallon reef friendly tank, I have two over flow boxes and was wondering a couple things.

1 - Should I use two different pumps one for each over flow ?
2 - And what size pump should i use ?

Tank size is 72 x 18 x 28, and I have 1 inch drain, with a 3/4 inch return. Also my sump will be made from a 55 gallon tank.

Thank you all in advance.

1- two pumps are not better than one. Actually can be dangerous.
2-if youre into dc, the the jebao dc 12000 will run that tank with no problem
Hope that helps

Thank you, i will take a look at that pump...

I have a 150 gal, I run the Jebao DCT12000, works great for me. More then enough power.

I was just looking at the price in Amazon 139.00 not bad, I was just concern about the T fitting two both returns but it definitely looks attractive.

do you guys have a single or Dual nozzle for each return ?

I did single but you could use double for more spread flow. I choose to use more pumps for internal tank flow. I don't like the looks of too many loc lines inside.

If I use a Y, I'm going to imagine I will need a flex hose instead of hard pvc plumbing ?

I like to use sch40 pvc for drain lines, and tubing for return line. I use a braided tubing, that is normally used for like ice machines I think. That way it reduces vibration noise from the return pump, and IME it is easier to remove and clean the pump every so often.

Awesome guys, thanks for all this great feed back, I will definitely take advantage ...

Ok, here is how I'm going to go, 1 jebao dc 12000, using a Y with flex tubing return, with 1 nozzle on each overflow, I'm also adding two 1500 Powerheads from Hydor Koralia pump one on each side facing each other. I'm hoping it will give me great movement. Now I need to start to create my Algae Scrubber... Thanks guys...
