Hi all,

Just got my new 180g rimless from Planet Aquarium. It's sitting on a welded steel stand with 3/4 plywood on top.

My question is whether this small 0.5 inch overhang poses any long term risk to the structural integrity of the tank? Everything is level and I would think it should be OK but just wanna make sure.

Is that bottom trim I see? If so I think you're fine - the glass panel itself looks fully supported. Now as to esthetics... I'd be really upset. ;-)

Yeah that is bottom trim on the bottom of my tank. Is that normal to put on a 180g rimless?
The good news is that's the back which will be against the wall and out of sight.

Rimless tanks do not have trim on them anywhere.
Is that maybe why Planet was cheaper than others, b/c they throw trim on there instead of how true rimless builders so? Or is this just semantics b/c ive seen other "rimless threads" for tanks larger than 180g, that look like they have some.sort of bottom bracing or pvc bottom trim.

Either way, tank looks clean enough for me..

I️ve seen 500 Gallon rimless tank’s and they don’t have a bottom brace. I️ myself have a 90 Gallon rimless

Either way your tank looks great. I️ wouldn’t worry about it. If anything it’s a plus to have some extra support. Plus I️ rarely even look at the bottom of my tank.
