Im having my 180 stand built by my awesome son-n-law. He's a certified welder, and a pretty good carpenter.

A few more pictures. He has the frame finished, has metal polished, primed, then first coat of black.

A few more pictures, stand is starting to cometogether. Thanks for all the interest and comments, R2R is awesome, with all the knowledgeable people here sharing their knowledge and ideas.

Wow. That is an absolute beast of a stand. I built the stand for my 180 out of 3/4” oak plywood, with a couple 1x4 braces in it just to keep it from expanding in the middle. Compared to your steel box frame, mine seems under-engineered.

Looks really nice!

Thank you very much. I have a 75g display sump i'm putting in the 50" opening, thats why i went with a strong steel frame. It needed the strength. More pictures to come.

Thanks so much. He is really getting good with his CNC. He's gonna cut coral pictures in each side door, they will be painted turquoise, as well at the "Crystal Reef " on the front trim board. The whole stand will be done in black oil base emamel.
