Hey Randy,
I hope all is well.
I could use your brain.
I’m trying to figure the conversion on your new to part to liters, it’s easer for me to measure the liquid. Dose this look good?
373.8 grams Sodium hydroxide
660.45 grams Calcium Chloride dihydrate
120.2 grams Sodium Chloride Free salt
Each one mixed separate to make 5 liters.
Also the Calcium amount seems like a lot.
I appreciate your time.
Tim

I've not made any calculations that I can recall on the sodium chloride free salt mix, but the other two are correct for this recipe:

Thank you.

Can I ask maybe a dumb question, is this a balanced 2part?
Ive been using Tropic Marin Balling and the calcium part is only 380 grams to 5 liters. Why so much in your mix.
Also in your mix, is this to make 5 liters, or added to 5 liters?

Thank you.

Yes, it is balanced 1:1. Other products are just more dilute. Sodium hydroxide is very potent per unit weight, which is why it may seem lower. Much more potent than sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate.

Strictly, the recipe was to make 1 gallon so to make 5 L total, but that only matters if you want to use a calculator and expect very precise numbers. You can make it to higher or lower potency if you want.
