Hello all, I've had a 50 gallon marine tank for a while now and I recently set up a 210. I've decided to go aggressive FOWLR and I have it cycling and a few of my existing fish moved into quarantine in prep for moving into the 210. Ive been searching online and visiting basically every local shop looking for some cool fish to fill out my tank. I havent found a ton that I am absolutely in love with, so I thought I would put out the call and see what you guys think are great additions. Below is the fish I already have as well as a few that I might want to get moving forward.

Current stock for the 210:

Magnificent Foxface
Fiji Foxface (The Two Foxfaces are fast friends and not aggressive to each other)
Juvenille Naso Tang
Lunare Wrasse

Considering:

Coris Wrasse
Dragon Wrasse
Bursa Trigger

Thank you for any suggestions you may have!

If it was my tank I would have to have an emperor angel!

If it was my tank I would have to have an emperor angel!

I was under the impression that an Emperor Angel was more a fish for the 300gallon crowd. My wife really loves them, so that would definitely be an option if I could keep one happy in a 210.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I always liked gold striped maroon clowns. Really gorgeous fish, but I've never had em in my tank due to their tenancy to be a little nasty. They get pretty big and could certainly stick up for themselves in an aggressive tank.

My Wife has 2 Lightning Maroons in her 93g. She'd kill me if I got Maroons of my own, Clowns are her thing :D Thanks for the suggestion though, they are gorgeous fish.

I agree with @dakoop an Emperor would be a nice fish and Live Aquaria lists minimum tank as 220

Ok, an Emperor is going on the list I think. I was considering a zebra moray or a puffer, so I am a little nervous about putting an angel in a tank with potentially a puffer. If I get the Emperor, am I cutting out my option of getting a puffer later?

Live Aquaria lists them as compatible Puffer and L. Angels as well as Eels

Ok, I think Im going to go with the Coris, an Emperor and leave my options open for an eel or puffer at a later date. Im pretty new to larger tanks, our largest tank so far is a 93g, so Im going to try and keep the number of fish down and just stay patient and make sure my system can take care of them well.

Thanks all for the suggestions!

I had a dogface..once...last one I will get.. Was the fish that killed my 19 yo black damsel and a 5yo marine betta. And the beginning of my qt tank

I recently set up a 240 gallon. I currently have a stars and stripes puffer, fox face, orange clown, long nose hawkish, jewel damsel, Harlequin tusk and a zebra Moray eel in it.

I have an emporer angel, (2) pajama cardinals, Niger trigger, pink tail trigger, midnight clown, yellow tang, palanini tang and lyretail wrasse in quarantine.

I'm still compiling a list of what else I want.

If you can get one I recommend the Harlequin tusk (Australian). It is a beautiful fish and has a great personality.

Good luck!!!!

Marine Betta/ convict tang (can do a group but aggressive towards other tangs)/ fu man chu lion fish (or any lion)/ Goat fish/ Formosa wrasse/ regal angel/ Koran angel/ eels/ dusky jawfish/ red scorpion/ leaf fish/ pair of blue throat triggers/ banded bamboo shark.. just to throw some stuff out!

Ok, so I spoke with my LFS and I think Ive decided against the Emperor Angel. My FOWLR is set up with spires of rock so I dont really have great hiding places for a big angel.

I ended up getting a Coris Wrasse, a Dragon Wrasse, and a Black Lionfish. I am planning on getting a Zebra Moray eventually, and I love the Harlequin Tuskfish but I dont want to buy fish without seeing them in person first and making sure they are eating. Once my LFS gets one, Im first on the list :D

Thanks again for the suggestions, Ill be posting my build thread here in a few days once I am a little less busy.
