I currently have a 380 that i downsized from a 750 about 7 yrs ago. This plant aq tank metal top is starting to rust as they used the wrong metal rod when welding. Powder coating is coming off on top cross braces.
They offered to fix but i have to pull it out of the house, thru a window, no easy job
If I'm pulling it I thought I would go a little smaller as to give more time to enjoy the tank & not doing maintenance.
New Superior tank dimensions 72" X 30" X 25" about 215 gallons
Sump will be a MRC with their Roller Mat Filter No refugium... Not sure how i feel about that as I have always had one. Now I think we are finding out that the algae is absorbing trace elements as well as other things corals can use....
Skimmer I was thinking the Reef Octopus Regal 250SSS 10" Space Saving
One return pump ( split to a media reactor ) Abyzz A100
Second return pump Abyzz A100 to a chiller that is outside the wall, to 150 Watt UV outside, then back to tank.
I want redundancy in case one pump fails, then I can switch if needed to keep chiller pump running.
I have:
8 new Radion XR30G5PRO's I was thinking 4 across, 2 rows.
Apex, Trident, Gyre's, MP60's
Looking for suggestions, comments, ideas...
Returns will be in the top back corners. Overflow box going in tank to outer box with drains.
I have had a tank for for over 40 yrs but technology changes & new ideas come up all the time.
I want to not make mistakes of the past as well as learn from others.
