New 29 Gallon reef tank

Ask your lfs to calibrate for you.
Bring them a water sample to confirm your tests are accurate.
I would add some flakes or pellets daily and continue testing till you have nitrates.
This confirms the nitrogen cycle is working.
At this point a 20% water change will reduce the nitrates.
Then your ready to add fish.
Your should add 1 at a time 4 weeks apart to slowly increase tanks capacity to process ammonia.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

I'd say that's a pretty much perfect fish addition time line.

Westend, having any more luck?

Agree

I went to the lfs - they tested the water and came to same conclusions as I had - so now I am following above - adding fish food till I get nitrate - and then water change

At the lfs I noticed a few dead fish in the same tank as I got my clown fish - so next time buying from another store

Also got a Jebao wave maker yesterday - nice power - so all begins to look great in the tank - just need some fish

Still have the shrimp, crabs and snails - a small zoanthis frag and the Kenya tree from earlier - looks like it is coming back after all
