This is my second saltwater tank. My first was a 10g fowlr with two small percula clowns, which crashed after a month from overfeeding. Big surprise there.

I'm ready to try again with a 29g and 10g sump. 30lbs live rock currently cycling. Bare bottom, because I want to work as little as possible (oops, am I in the wrong hobby?). FOWLR. No CUC beyond my hitchhikers.

After doing some research, I know I want a royal gramma and a single percula clown, plus one more little guy. A few friends have suggested a sixline wrasse. Are these truly compatible, and in what order should they be added? Any other suggestions (I like LIVELY fish)? I love arrow crabs, but will one prey upon my fish, either as juvies or adults?

Your friends must not be friends if they ever suggest a Six Line lol. JK. I think your list is good. I had a six line with a royal and clowns before and they all did good together. Just know if you want to add another wrasse, that six line will most likely terrorize it.

As for arrow grabs, you can get a small one.

Your list seems good. Try to add the Gramma and the Wrasse at the same time if possible. Also, I'd suggest any other wrasse then a six line, as they tend to be jerks as they mature. Though a gramma and clown would be able to defend themselves against it in my opinion if you're big on specifically having a six line. I have no experience with arrow crabs, but most crabs will eat anything they can catch.

Arrow crabs are not nano fish safe. They are predatory and will hunt fish as will most crabs. There are many varieties of shrimp that would fit your 29 quite well.

I do have some aiptasias, so a pair of pep shrimp would be nice. Would any other cool, hardy shrimp (or other inverts) be compatible with them?

I forgot to mention, I was also considering a striped or ring-eyed dottyback (edit: or neon dotty... so pretty), since I've heard the sixline was a hit-or-miss on aggression. These would also be compatible, right?

Dottyback's can also be aggressive, especially Neons. They'd be better if you want shrimp though, as most wrasses would harrass them and/or eat them. Adding a dottyback last would probably work out though.

The clown needs a friend :( I was very close to buying a 6 line then spoke to actual owners and changed my mind quickly. Instead I will be adding a Mc.Costers flasher male.

I absolutely love my skunk cleaner shrimp, I can't imagine they wouldn't be fine if peppermints are. He's currently my favorite animal in my tank (definitely the friendliest, always comes and cleans my hand whenever its in the tank). Just a heads up, clowns aren't only aggressive towards other fish they can also be aggressive towards people. My clownfish constantly attacks my hand whenever I'm in the tank. Not trying to discourage you, just something to be aware of :)
