Hello all,

After a 3 year break I'm back in the game with a 3 and 1 year old. Fun to be able to share the hobby and have our daughter ask questions and excitement.

This setup will be:

40B aqueon
Aquatic fundamentals 50/65 stand
50lbs Reefcleaners Rock
40 lb seaflor special and adding 16 lbs arag-live natural Reef ($14 for 16 lb bag-1/2 off)
Aqueon pro 150 heater
2- Koralia 750s ph
36" Current USA orbit marine led
Penguin 350 bio wheel

BRS 4 stage plus RODI

Future-
HOB Skimmer

Got it setup yesterday, waiting to make sure all salt got dissolved for 24-48 hours to add some seachem stability along with the live sand.

powerheads will be here Thursday. Currently running 350 w cartridges to help clear tank and heater.

What do you think of banggai cardinalfish? Smaller, relatively easy to keep, and I think very interesting looking. One of my favorite fish that I haven't cared for yet.

Nice setup. Do you ever plan on adding a sump? I used to have the same stand with sump, and it really became very difficult to maneuver under the stand.

All seems well today, held off on the wc to keep bacteria going. Brown algae starting so need small cuc.

Fish seemed starving when I feed them, light feedings though to reduce waste. Surprised at the local petco stock where I get clowns vs lfs stock/health.

Last week I added the Reefcleaners 20G CUC, picked up a Hydrogalaxy LED light and today my fiancée well son noticed 1 clown jumped out and landed on the glass. RIP nemo, time for a new buddy for the other.

great progress and tank is looking good. Looks like you will be ready for livestocks any day.

My other opinion is that i think this tank is way too big to be considered as a nano.
When I had a tank setup this size, I was able to house a yellow tang in this 40g breeder for a couple of years.

Picked up a 75 gallon for $60. Probably sell tank and refinish the stand/canopy. Figure a year orrrrr maybe sooner to get this one up and running, needs sump, they were using a tote. Also had UV sterilizer and euro reef skimmer.
