OK I have the water and rock in. Total water is just over 50 gallons. I have used dry rock and half a frozen shrimp to cycle. So I am using 2 spoons a day of Pro BioF.

After 2 weeks I will test and do a 50% water change. Is there anything else I need to do right now?

Hello,
Looks like you will have the start to a great reef, I like the aquascape. Can you please share more details regarding the system? Pro Bio F has a component of carbon source in addition to a bacteria source. To cycle with bacteria, Bio S is more for seeding the tank, a new tank if you will, it is also good to use when introducing new livestock, or to use in the event of death of livestock. You can also use this bacteria after water changes too. If you choose to employ the Probiotic lineup, once the tank is being stocked to run low nutrients, you would use in combination Pro Bio S and NP Pro to maintain nutrients. This really depends on how you wish to run your tank. AF products can be used in supplementation to another method as well, depending of course on how you desire to run your tank. The system is flexible, we are here to help you with the product line in the capacity you wish to use. Just need some additional details :) Cheers

OK I was under the impression that Pro BioF was better than Pro BioS and NP Pro for smaller tanks? This is direct from aquaforest.

So the plan is for this to be an sps only tank. I already have all the coral foods and supplements. I am going to use components 1/2/3 and see how that gorges first.

Jason, I have been on Aquaforest for about a month and a half on my 7 month old system. I use the Probiotic salt, NP Pro, Pro Bio S, AF A, B, E, V and also the component 1+, 2+, 3+ in my 95G total water (75G Display). My tank is SPS dominate, with about 45 SPS Frags (Acros, Monti's, and milli's). You will love the results, I only wish I would have started sooner.

No worries, many probiotic users still use Pro Bio F in replacement of NP Pro a couple of times per week, I personally do myself. This way you can at least use the product without waste. The tank sounds really nice, and great choice with the setup! With Probiotic Salt being used and plans of running a Probiotic based system with AF, here is what myself and many others are doing:
In your Zeo Reactor, you can stack the Zeomix, AF Carbon, and Phos Minus~(equal parts 125ml of each) This to start(you can increase based on your needs) To support the Probiotic system, you would likely dose(Based on PDF) 2 drops in the AM of NP Pro and Pro Bio S. This is what maintains low nutrient conditions, these doses can change up or down, based on test results, and your fish and coral bioload. The component 123 system will maintain mineral and trace in one complete system.(I use this too) You can also use a media like siporax or matrix to help create more surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow, this helps in further breakdown of nutrients. I would imagine anywhere from 2L to 5L which can be run passive in a clean sump, or also in a reactor. This is not necessary, but the media's are said to be 20 to 40 times more efficient than live rock :) Saltwater changes recommended 10% weekly. NSW values desired in keeping ULNS. Hope this helps :) Cheers!

The Kore 5th is a beast!

OK another follow up. I have the Kore Doser and just got the BioS and NP Pro.

I would like to does it using the doser. Has anyone diluted it and if so at what ratio and then what is the dosing ration?

Yes the doser can do NP Pro, a diluted version is available, it is 5ml per 100L(27 gal) vs. the dropper bottle which is done manually with one drop per 100L(27gal). The Bio S is for cycling your tank, post water changes, and to add when adding or losing livestock. The daily bacteria you will add will be Pro Bio S, of course when the tank has livestock. Pro Bio S requires refrigeration, so it is not easily able to be automated. Cheers :)

So in that case I should just use the doser for 1/2/3 and hand drop everything else.

yes, this would be wise, especially on a smaller setup. I automate the component 123 as well

I am a little disappointed. This is why I purchased the Kore 5th. I wanted to be able to does components 1/2/3 and Pro BioS and NP Pro daily with it.

Yes, but like any bacteria that has live components, once opened, can go rancid. I actually did not store in refrigeration for 3 months and used, I did not read the bottle :( I think that I had a cyano bloom as a result, this was a lesson learned. The bottle did smell bad, compared to the new bottle it was replaced with.

Ya I just looked at the label. It Dosnt say to put in refrigerator.

Well you are correct, my apologies. I also just read the pdf on it and it is not indicated there as well. I will contact Debora, and forward this one over. Again, I apologize, but I am fairly certain it requires refrigeration. Give me some time to figure this out. Thank You!
Cheers :)

Perry no reason to apologize. I just remeber talking to Aquaforest and the guys from pacific sun as they are both in Poland. They told me they use the Kore for all their dosing and it was perfect because they have the magnetic stirrer.

Jason, it is in the Q&A section, so again, my apologies. As long as the temperature does not exceed 78 degrees F, it should be fine. I understand the magnetic stirrer idea, as some products do require shaking. I live in FL, so I will continue use in the fridge. I do think I had a rancid bottle, the smell is most definitely different between the old and new bottle. I guess I just want to be on the safe side. Thanks for your understanding and patience. Cheers!

Pro Bio S should be stored in the fridge. In the box that the bottle comes in should be a folded sheet of paper and it clearly states, "Once opened store it in the fridge."

26. Question:

Do I need to keep bottles in fridge?

Answer:

If temperature in Your room is not higher then 24 Celsius degrees - You Can keep it in room, not in fridge.

Hey Ed, this was my interaction with Debora this morning, hope all is well my friend! Cheers!
