New 90 Gal 5 month progress

Just upgraded from a 65 Gal, eheim canister filter and Apollo Reef leds to this 90. I’ve been reefing for abt 10 years and have always wanted to take my reefing to another level. Though there now seems to be all this new talk about simplicity I am glad to finally utilize a Sump with skimmer and fuge to see where it can take me and the health and well being of my animals.
Feel like I got lucky finding this entire set up used at the LFS with everything I wanted though have managed to spend 100’s more on even more fun stuff like a JBJ ATO, kill a watt ps 10 elect monitor/surge protector, new Eheim Jager heaters, new Hydor 850 and Tunze 6045 powerhead. Oh and the Kessil spectral controller to go with my new (used) Kessil A360 tuna blue leds.
All the rock work is from BRS and is their reef saver dry rock and a beautiful hunk of pukani that I carved caves and a trench into (go through not over!)
Sump has some chateo from Algae Barn and I keep it lit on a reverse cycle with a 12 w led grow light off Amazon. Not sure about that yet. May not be enough bc The chateo doesn’t seem to be doing all that well under it. I’ve got my eye on a Kessil H80. If anyone has any suggestions on lighting for chateo I’d love to hear from you.

Nice mine will be a 90 too but mine won't start till next year I think at the end of January is when I will get my tank. Looks good though

That was a pretty nice set-up to find all together. The LifeReef sump, skimmer & refugium will serve you well for a long time. Nice aquascape too! Following to watch this one mature.

I’m loving the extra volume, but kind of wish I went even a little bigger 120-150 But it was a package deal and it was a great price. My husband has recently given me leave to turn the formal dining area into exclusive reefing space so there’s room to grow at a later date. Since adding the 90 I also have a 30 quarantine and 10 reservoir for the ato. All beautifully illuminated by a crystal chandelier above.

I didn't evan look that close you have a very good skimmer and sump. love life Reef stuff

I have also a 90g .. I see you have 2 Kessel lights above it .. I would love too do the same only I have 2 bracing bars on top so I guess I’d have too go with 3 instead too eliminate any shadowing

Great set up, especially as a package deal. I came across my smaller (and lower end) set up similar. Great start for this tank for you. Certainly seen more than one dining room chandelier in FTS lol. Enjoy!
