I upgraded from a 55 gallon to a 90 gallon 3 weeks ago and I just wanted to share what I did and show my new tank......I pumped out all the water from the 55 into Rubbermaid bins. I then pulled out the live rock and scrubbed it down in a bin of fresh saltwater then I put it in one of the bins with the old tank water with a power head. The few corals I had were kept in the bin with the live rock. Once the old tanks was out of the way and the new tank in place and leveled I added the sand (80 pounds of new live reef grade crushed coral ) and started to put the live rock in the new tank. I used epoxy in a few places to hold the rocks in place. When I finally got the rock the way I wanted it I put all the old tank water in and added all my new water to the tank along with the clean up crew. My two clowns were kept in an old sump with some live rock and a maxi jet pumping into a filter sock for a week then put into the new tank. All has went well and the fish are fine and from what i can tell i have not lost any of my clean up crew. I have a 6 bulb t5 fixture and a 48 inch blue ecoxotic panorama led over it. I am thinking about switching to Ecotech Gens Pro. I built a sump using a 30 gallon tank and some acrylic. It is not as pretty as the pre-built one put it also didn't cost 350 dollars......Check out the few pic and let me know what you think also fell free to and in your thoughts on the Ecotech Gen 3 fir a mixed reef....
