What do you plan on stocking it with ?

If you havent filled that tank fully yet, my best advise- get that tank away from the window. You are going to have an algae nightmare from direct and indirect sunlight, temperature swings from heat of sun and thermal cold during the winter.
Best to do thus now before you have this fully stocked. Shades will barely help as uv from the sun is strong.

I have given a lot of thought into this. Unfortunately with the layout of this room it’s really the only “good “ place. Good meaning it’s pretty large for the room and against the wall or elsewhere severely limits furniture placement. I’m going to completely block out those windows. We don’t keep the shades open now due to privacy.

Blocking will reduce risk
