new 90gallon tank

ok here my setup
90 gallon tank
2 700gph canister filters w sterlizers
tidal 75
100lbs oceandirect live sand
60 caribsea base rock

as my tank matures to i even need and media in the canister filter any thoughts on this

Welcome fellow Michigan resident. I run a 90 gallon also and only use a HoB filter with surface cleaner, floss, sponge and a bag of carbon. Along with that a Reef Octo HoB skimmer. I don't have any experience with canister filters. However I know they need to be cleaned regularly and have become less and less of a popular option.

exactly thinking just need them to move water around so why put media in them just to collect debris in them my thinking i will need to clean them 4 to 5 times a year. when i ran a sump i never cleaned it and never had problem

my thought were big power heads with uv sterlizers with the flex of adding media base on any issues i may have moving foward. right now runing bio media in them while i cycling my current setup

i was eye balling that dude already i am just not sure if iam doing skimmer or algae scubber or both guess tank will tell me
