Hello everyone,
Looking for some feedback on a new setup I am upgrading too. I am picking up a brand new rimless 93 cube in the next month. I am also picking up a new acrylic sump to run on the system. Just a basic sump, nothing special. I have a mag12 I am going to use as well as a 2LF 550 reactor if needed. Not sure what I am going to run in it yet, recommendations welcome. As far as filtration in the sump, I am ordering a Reef Octopus classic 160 along with typical sock. Am I missing anything more for filtration? I am also ordering 75lbs of dry Pukani LR from BRS whenever they have it in stock for the DT and last but not least, a ReefRadiance DM 160p+ controlled by my RKE. I would like the tank to be a mixed reef with fish.
I would love to hear your feedback,
Thanks, Scott

What are your plans for livestock?? That kinda decides a lot. Also, what's your experience in the hobby ?sounds like you've been into the hobby and know what your talking about

I ran a sock for about a year until I came to my own conclusion that it's tAking more than necessary out. But I have a refuge and good skimmer too so I took it out

I am currently running 2 bio cubes, and a regular 90 with a basement sump. I am looking to start a virgin tank,"no live rock" that's why I'm going with the dry. Live stock will be sps, lps, and maybe 6-7 fish.

been reeling on and off for about 15 years, but I like to know what works good for others before I set anything in stone.

Ya , I know people can do the lps & sps together. That's a challenge I'm facing, my 8 year old system was originally lps and softies( I was new to the hobby). Last couple of years I've gone crazy for sps, and my lps Have been suffering. I wouldn't consider a mixed reef(speaking in my present day of experience). I would be going lps OR sps and then softies of course. Ive been debating just trading in my remaining lps for a few months now, it's sad lol
