New Acan Growth ??

I have been buying a few Acans lately ,,, nothing high $$$,, wanted to make sure my tank is going to keep Acans happy before I started getting some of the nice Acans ,,, I have been mounting them to my rock scape,, like you would a zoa frag as opposed to having a Acan Garden on my sand bed,, did I mess up doing this, will the Acan's in my tank be happy mounted to my rock scape? I am kinda just starting out with these Acans,,, none of my frags have increased in size (added new polyp growth) as a general rule,, I know each tank is different ,, how are Acans when it comes to adding new polyp growth?

What are your lights? Acans are my favorite coral. I have 35 different frags/colonies. I've mounted some of my acans and they've done well, but the only acans I've lost were ones that were mounted. All of my acans that are not mounted have done well. I only mount mine now on small rocks that I can still move fairly easily. Being able to move them to a place that they like your lighting is one of the most important aspects with acans.

I have AI Hydra lighting over my tank ,, I don't have the white LEDs very bright though, maybe 13% blues are up there pretty good though. I had heard Acans don't need a ton of bright light and that to much lighting will fade them out. My frags seem to be doing good at this point

They go mental.

Ocean nutrition frozen food.
The tank gets a feed with photo blast and reef roids.
The acans react the most from lobster eggs.

Definitely feed them to significantly boost their growth. I feed mine live black worms, mysis, and Oceanic Eggs by reef nutrition as often as possible. At least several times a week.

Feed my acans whit frozen loobster eggs, Artemia and rotifiers.

In about a week they where shaded in colors, started to feed them whit pellets from fauna marine grow & color, it took about 2-3 weeks and the color was back, so I think pellets contains more of what they need, than frozen food does!

I've got one 3 head frag I got about 3-4 weeks ago and noticed earlier this week I now have 2 small heads growing out the side. Funny though I've had a Hammer for about 10 months and nothing but tiny buds and a Frogspawn for about 3 months and nothing on that. I guess Acans like water similar to Acros. Also I do not spot feed, just turn the pumps to feed mode and broadcast feed.
