Was looking at my Acans today and noticed something new. I was wondering if it producing new polyps? I got this Acan on March 2nd.

Looks like a bivalve growing der mate

Here is a different angle. You can see that it’s a part of the Acan skin.

I wouldn’t think it’s a new polyp, best to keep a close eye and see how it develops

Just noticed my green purple acan is doing the same thing. I tried to get some good pictures of it. I’ll keep you guys updated on what it becomes.

+1 on new polyps, they look like clear fleshy bumps for a bit then you start to see a mouth forming then some color comes in, congrats on a new colony forming

These answers are what I was hoping to hear. Its amazing how fast they are growing. I've only had them for close to 2 1/2 weeks.
If they are happy they will explode in growth. Mine started about the same time, its been really fun to watch them grow and get different colors. Here is my most recent pic.

I’ll try and take some pictures tomorrow. The green/purple one has 2-3 polyps that have tentacles. The Red one has 4 polyps but no tentacles yet.

If you want them to really grow fast feed them 2-3 times a week.. I got a Acan pack last summer, all of them where very small single or double head frags.
