New Acros SPS, broken peice what to do

I just purchased a few Acros for my new build and unfortunately one of the heads broke during putting it in the tank.

I've always been told if you have a SPS discoloring or going white to cut off the peice that is dying off and glue over it like a band aid.

My question is this peice broke, should I just leave it be, since I did a coral dip anyway or should I take a ride to the store and pick up crazy glue to cover the peice.

It can actually be a good thing. I have cut tips off of SPS and growth took off from there. Kind of like pruning

I remember briefly reading an idea that slightly injured corals tend to grow more from the injured sections. I havent seen any proof of this but it was an interesting thought.

Or what I do is experiment. Find a spot with corraline an dab the piece lightly with glue and set it there. I've had some really interesting results.

That's interesting, do you have any pictures? I've been thinking about glueing some frags to the back glass, I have 2 Monti caps I think I might try

those would be kinda hard to get just because of where they are in the tank. Ill see what i can do. Im looking at one digi 1/4 or smaller, it encrusted and id spreading not is about an inch. I left a monti on the bottom of the tank a little too long it entrusted the rock and now is starting to "lift" into the standard monti shape.

I dont have the link to the info, it was also touched on again at macna, there is a chemical trigger that many coral use in corraline, mostly in the planktonic stage, but still exists in the adults that entices them to spread.
The best luck in fraggin ive had is on live rock pieces and coralline coated plugs.

Was 3mm

Dropped on rock for a couple weeks

Sand dollar left in tank for months. White is new growth this week.

K here's two decent ones.
The birds nest was 4 or 5 mm I stuffed it in a hole. W dab of glue
Gorg I stuffed into the hole no glue to where I couldn't even see it

the zoas i glued there months ago. I didnt even see those.
the nest behind the big colony was laying on the bottom of the tank on a pice or rubble till I glued it there.

if you do some looking you find threads where the sticks dont really do anything until they encrust then boom. Its one reason folks dont like "fresh cuts"
and yes I have acro birdsnest gorgs sinulara stylo and zoas at the top of my tank under high flow and high par. you cant see the xenia it gets the same light just different flow.
I like to experiment.
