Hello everyone, my name is Derek and I just recently relocated to the Bentonville Arkansas area. Grew up with fresh water tanks. Currently still have 2 small tanks going. Over the last 4 years I have started to venture into the saltwater relm. Started with a Fish only 26 gallon that was a struggle not having a LFS. But did the best I could. Currently I have a 75 gallon that I am cycling that will be a full reef tank. I am here to learn and to share my experiences and failures. I hope to meet some people in my local area that also enjoy this addiction. It does feel good to have 2 LFS. Well I hope to share my tank soon. Thank you

Welcome! I am new too and checked out several forums over the past months and this is by far the best. Very active, super helpful people, positive, encouraging, etc. We have a great LFS but it's over an hour drive round trip so I have come here for a lot of info as we get started. It really has been SUPER helpful. Have you started cycling already? tank looks good. I first started saltwater with a 75 and it was a good size for us at the time.

Welcome to R2R, I was napping:rolleyes:

Well I got a deal I couldn't pass on this 75.. plus the wife agreed to it. She also understands how this hobby grows and tanks grow. But yes I have the tank full now. Live sand, cured rock, just waiting for time to take its place.. however this is my first time with a sump. So I am still learning. Luckily I love projects and that is exactly what this tank was.

That's my goal. I wish I had taken more pictures. There were points I was so mad I didn't want to take any. Plus the mistakes that just get under your skin..

lol ... is that "A" in MichAgan intentional? those of us blessed to live in northern Michigan can have a strange "A" and "O" sound to their words but alas, I am downstate. They call us "trolls" meaning we live below the bridge. YOOPERS live above. Are you down here with us trolls? :)

We all go through the mistake thing. It would have been great to have a place like this to ask before I made a buch of mistakes back in the day. Shake off and move on:) grab the camera, snap a picture, and laugh about it six months down the road. Even on my current build I have messed up a few things:). Then I come here and have one of those O man moments. I think I am getting smarter though, I am starting to ask questions:rolleyes:
