How do i sleep tonight knowing i have 2 peppermint shrimp in there? I have a wall hammer that ive had months and not been touched. Although the frogspawn is to replace my torch that seemed to melt over night. (Could have been brown jelly) not sure. I love it so much!! I fed the shrimp pellets tonight to ease my worry.

Nice looking coral BTW. The shrimp will not bother a healthy coral so there is nothing to worry about. If its dying and has exposed tissue then yes they will pick at it.

Enjoy your coral and get some rest.

Your worries of problems are valid. In my years of reefing I've had bad experiences with peppermints and frogspawns, hammers. Each time the corals that were decimated by them were in very good health, had no signs of any problems, disease or stress.

Watched them go rouge on them, tearing flesh from them. Other reefers I know have had similar experiences with peppermints.

Best to capture the shrimp and rehome ASAP, IMHO!

There are some people that have had issues with I believe some type of hybrid peppermint shrimp. I think they sell allot shrimp now a days and call them all peppermint like the camelback shrimp, etc. Do some googling on the topic and maybe that will help you identify if you have the culprits that cause the issues.

I Clearly know the difference between camels and peppermints now for over twenty years. Culprits were peppermints and the others with problems were with peppermints.

Many people may not know the difference though.

99% of peppermints are reef safe. You occasionally get that 1% that goes for LPS (happened to me) If you havnt actually seen the shrimp devouring a coral, I wouldn't worry... they certainly don't care if you see them or not

Woke up and its still intact. It is showing interest in the base of it though.

I had a peppermint eat a healthy wwc og bounce over night and 2 days later ate small hammer I agree with all suggestions that involve removing mine happily live in my sump
