Watch him carefully. Banded coral shrimp have a reputation for being aggressive and picking on smaller shrimp and crabs.

My cousin has one of those shrimp and it has killed two anthias And a blenny

Coral banded shrimp (especially smaller species such as the blue or yellows) do not attack and kill healthy fish. Larger species such as the common coral banded shrimp might be aggressive toward other shrimp, but they will not take down perfectly healthy fish. The anthias and blenny were likely killed by some other cause and the shrimp, being scavengers, were cleaning up. This is one of those things that people always talk about, yet there has never been any evidence presented to show that these shrimp are fish predators. Blue coral bandeds especially, stay small and are fairly shy and cryptic. They want to be left alone and hide a lot if given the chance.

+1^^ I have a yellow one and it's no problem. Not aggressive at all. I'd say they are around half the size of the "hairy" ones. I think the yellow and blue are considered dwarf coral banded shrimp.

Beautiful shrimp, I have one that I've had for about 6 years. I hope yours is more outgoing than mine. I'm lucky if I see mine once a month and when I do it's usually just a quick glance. I couldn't tell you how many times I thought it was dead only to see it 2 months or more later.

What stars are you feeding your harlequin?

Just got it but it came with a choc. Chip star. I have a lot of astreana stars. Not sure about spelling here.

What are you going to feed him? I have one but I'm concerned he isn't getting enough food since I do pellets 5x and mysis 2x per week.

Just star fish. I will keep a pice in the tank as needed.

If you're talking about the dwarf coral banded don't worry about it. Mine's been alive for 6 years and I've never done anything special for it, just feed the fish.
