So added some sps to the system.

I know it coming so
Alk 9
pH 8.2
Calcium 450
Nitrates are 0 currently fallow.
Phosphate 0
Temp- 78
Salinity 1.024

System has been up for about 7 months.
Currently have a pink birds nest and a bonsai. Both doing great been in for 3 months.

New coral added around 3 today and it appears the tissue is just coming off! I acclimated to the system and dipped in some revive. Once added they appeared to slime up which is kinda normal I thought. Now it just seems to keep slimming off! Am I right?

Anything I can do. Or just to late
New to the whole sps game and I know stability is key but I haven't even had them in the tank 12 hrs

Did you dip in revive and tank water or revive and rodi? I dipped one yellow acro I have in rodi (face palm) and it shed all its color. I'm a few months in to having it now and all the color has come back.

It looked like I took a hi lighter and dropped it in my tank when I added it. Then slowly over the months it's come back.

I did the revive in tank water. Then the rinse in rodi. Then straight into tank. And it def looks like they are bleaching. Really hope they come back!!

Not sure but it's best chance is keep things stable and get some nutrients in the tank. 0 no3 and 0 po4 isn't good.

Just a fyi, Revive is hard on corals. Especially smooth skinned corals.

What coral dip would you suggest for smith skin Corals?

Bayer... But only a few minutes. In my experience it pales them out but not as bad as revive. When I battled aefw I dipped twice a week for 3 months. I noticed I couldn't leave the smooth skin corals in the whole 12-15 minutes or they would get pale.

Thanks! This is some very good info. This was my first of what some people call real sps. Not the easy birds nest and all. Will def stay away from the revive and maybe just do the Bayer for max 5 min. Thank you!

Shake them real good in the dip when you take them out and again in the saltwater rinse to knock anything off that might be handing on still
