I am a admitted newbie to the saltwater hobby. Freshwater for many years. This forum is a great place to share amazing things that happen in front of our eyes with fellow members. They are our own individual worlds created perfectly in our own eyes. There are many fabulous vendors that share in our love for this hobby. These are the ones i look to when it comes time to add something or that OMG i gotta have piece. These are the people we trust to provide us with healthy pieces that we will stare at after a long day of work, or just before the lights go out for the night.
My tank is 11 months old, and i learn something almost daily. To the people i ask frequently, i thank u for your patience as i'm sure your rolling your eyes when I call or email you...On this forum u have vendors that specialize in id say high end pieces. The stuff we all would love to have and hope to someday add, piece by piece. I started talking to Mike at Sexy corals. Seemed to be a great guy, texted each other till late hours (at least for me being on the east coast). I put together a box which i think started at 800 dollars.. Well over the next few months that box got real close to 3 thousand dollars.. Pieces i loved, so sure, he didn't mind i was paying as we went along. Which i do appreciate. Saw that as a cool thing he did for me, which allowed me to really get the one box i wanted. So i thought. I even bumped up his posts to keep them on the front page.. "Do me a favor" he'd say. So, long story short.. Mike sent my box, i still owed him 425 dollars. A great gesture I thought. Cant wait for that box.
I received that Sexy box. All 8 pieces there. One not glued to anything, in a bag lose. All bags were cold.. Real cold. My box was packed with no hand warmer. I got them home and in water 2 hrs after receiving them. (had them sent to work). I had skeleton showing on 2 pieces, some had perfect edges, looked freshly cut. A few pieces looked fine, and still are a week later. But i have worries for some. JF Tangerine dreams and Crazy Fox are both receded badly now. One was showing skeleton when i received it and the other appeared to be ok. Bags we not marked or labeled so i don't know which is which. The pink ******* appears to be a fresh cut- looks ok so far. The weirdo was the lose piece, it also is ok. the Independence is a great looking healed piece. The 2 pieces of Dynamite.. Both are 2 eye frags. one is small but healed. No rim yet, but i love the colors. I hope it makes it. The second is a blue and red streaked piece. Showing skeleton when it arrived, and even visible in the wysiwyg pic i got a week before shipping. Hasn't settled in yet.. I am hopeful. (funny thing i learned today. Was told i gotta wait to see the rim color to see if its really Dynamite. Not sure if this is true, but from the source, i'd trust it) The final piece is the Sexy Criminal. Again id say its fresh, it is argued that it was cut months ago and is a slow grower. I dont know, but the edges are pure white and pretty straight. This piece is big, and i hope it gets it colors back.
Look, after texting Mike on the delivery day, we were quiet for days. I texted him to start conversation.. I felt i was owed something.. He had an answer for everything, and i got, we're good, don't worry about the money. Mike 3 months or so we chatted. I trusted u. Stuff happens, we all know this. I don't know how many people drop that kinda money on your stuff. But sadly i was not impressed a week ago, and cross my fingers that this stuff makes it as i sit here and write this. It was after all what i wanted, but unfortunately my box was not so sexy..

These are those situations i have to be consistent with when i deal with customers. i have to stick with policies. i can bend them a little but not break my own rules. you got the corals at 1030.. i didnt hear or from you till close to 430. you told me out of the 8 pieces hat only two look like they are gonna make it. i then ask why you didnt me any pics till 6 hours later with now reply. Then i got two blurry pics from you of two pieces.. and that was all i got. then you cut off commucatin for a bout 6 days then i get a text and i again ask for a group pic and still nothing... . till this day over a week later i still dont have a group shot of them. i dont know how i am suppose to fix anything without any pic. i have all these recorded in text if someone wants to see them...i try to make all my customers happy.. but i just cant do anything without people following policies.. i mean i can easily replace or refund if i got a pic a couple hours later but 6 hours.. and in this cause still no pics after over a week? what else can i do?

Heres the wyiswyg pic i sent Paul about a week before shipping the frags out.. That alone proves that the pieces were at least healed about a week and not fresh cut and ship like Paul says..

And yes you still owe a balance of over $400 but i know im not gonna get it. Sorry i didnt work out for you. I tried on my end but theres only so much i can do

Now its at least a week Mike? Come on Bro... And that pic is missing the Crazy Fox btw. In one reply u say, "some recut cause the first frag didnt look good but not fresh cut. at least 2 weeks" which is it? And what was a group shot gunna do Mike. I missed the 1 hr window. Ur protected.

Seems like everyone "breaks off" communications with you Mike.. Same story. A few weeks back I read about some acro Ms.Sexy was selling when u were busy with ur project, and Battle Corals spoke up...about not hearing from u for 6 months. That got edited also.. U got a good thing going Mike.

Thats a great pink boobs piece wish it was mine... Remember when i sent u a pic at 4:41 eastern showing a straight white edge on the pink boobs u replied "oh yeah that **** was recut not to long ago. the other one was small and receeding. this was cut the day i cut the other two that we mis communicated and cut the other two you didnt get. which is about 2 weeks now".

Sorry for the double post of the weirdo.. One im not worried about, more the way it was packed. Independence is a great healed piece. The crazy Fox which is not in ur wysiwyg pic is dying from day 1. The pink boobs is different and i got a text stating u recut it. The smaller of the two dynamite i love. I am hopeful it makes it. But again, im new here, looks awful white and fresh on the side to me. The con....well i just love the scribe marks visible on ur pic and mine....My pic is a little closer up, and looks pretty fresh..And the blue /red dynamite.. Thanks for posting that pic Mike..Look REAL close to the bottom right corner..Tough to see..but theres skeleton showing. My pic, id say is just a better angle..

no that is the exact same frag of the pink ******* in my wysiwyg pic. i just put them side by side and compared. and those look pretty good to me paul. from what you said from the text " only 2 out of the 8 are gonna make it" i see them all doing fine accept the crazy fox that def look like new recession after a week in your tank. it came in as a full rim frag.. well if it came in like that i never got a pic of it until now

Now i really dont get where the "THey are all gonna die accept two pieces" came from? Im kinda confused here... I guess now i kinda feel like i got took for the balance since i see that they are doing ok after a week. but hey money is not the issue man.. Just keep the $400+ balance and take it as my way of saying sorry that you are not 100% happy with the corals i sent you. Wish you the best in the future in this hobby and may all your other transaction be better than mine.

Mike, it never ends with you. Never said they were dead Mike. Said it from the start and still to this day, they were in bad shape when i recieved them. Nothing has died to date. Those pics are of the pieces when recieved. The last pic of the weirdo is a recent pic, showing that it has come back from the shipping adventure. I hope the rest return to good health. For you to tell me that the Crazy fox is receded after being in my tank for a week is very fitting and should not surprise me. Where is that piece in ur wysiwyg pic?? Remember that text, was late, turned the lights on to get this pic for u punk.....left the crazy out by mistake, but is good.... Well, if thats good Mike i'd hate to see a bad piece..

Look, ur a busy guy as am I. We are getting nowhere. I have said my peace. I hope someone in the market for a piece or three reads this thread so they can make an educated decision before they get into this type of situation with any vendor, not just you.

I wish you well Mike. Good luck with your new adventure. I mean that.
