Well I received a birthday present today so thought I would post to see peoples insight onto what I received. Still researching and trying to locate what I have here. Urchin came along with it.

Happy birthday! Nice additions!!

I'm horrible with zoa names. :(

Last pic looks like a (Spaghetti) Finger Leather Coral (Sinularia sp.) hanging down. Soft coral, very easy to care for and a great beginner's coral. Doesn't require massive amounts of light or flow. Grows well but mine has not become invasive like a kenya tree (similar) dropping babies all over the place and spreading where you don't want it. The one I have has survived bouts of terrible tank conditions and very low flow and light at times.

thanks. Yea did a lil more searching today , but no definite names. When I came home, all of them were reaching for the sky, since they are fairly close to light already, changed flow around a lil to see if they might tighten up a lil.

So urchin passed away, don't know why since there is plenty to eat and water test results were good. His spines were all gone and not moving when I got home yesterday. So I removed :(
Now I starting to worry bout the zoas

Haven't opened up for a couple days now.

Welcome to reef2reef :).

What are you're tank parameters in actual numbers.

What all are you testing for?

Did you get a setup and transferred it to your place? It's possible that it stirred up the sand and has started a small cycle.

I will be testing again 2nite so I will post up numbers. Don't remember off top of my head, but nothing was alarming levels. Testing ph, phosphate, calcium, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, salinity, and alkalinity. Temp at 78-79.
Zoas and urchin were a group on the rock I was given as a gift.

How old is the tank? Your ammonia and nitrite should be at 0ppm. Nitrate can be a bit higher but coral and more sensitive motile inverts can be sensitive to them. What salt are you using? Are you topping off regularly with fresh RO/DI water? Do you have any fish?

3months(zoas were a gift but I know it was early to put in) Ammonia & nitrite @0. Nitrate just barely met coloring for a reading. Salt was oceans direct. Yes wit rod I and 2 Yellowtail damsels
