That's a good deal on that system! You'll be happy with the 90g...it gives many options for fish. You will still be limited to the type of tangs, but anything in that Bristletooth category is ok. If you have corals, watch the Coral Beauty...it might snack on them. It's funny that you posted this. I was just about to get a seneye next week. THEN i checked my local reefer FB group and someones selling a 90g with sump and stand for $300.
After getting my tank set up, I knew I wanted bigger. I love having diverse fish, and the inability of me to have a coral beauty or tang was saddening (especially since my LFS just got a coral beauty and sailfin in this week).
So my new 36g is now going to be a new 90g cube as of next week![]()

Good luck getting coraline algae...my tank is pushing 2.5yrs old and barely a spot or two on a rock! I do have it on the overflow, though. Keep the puffer full and he should be ok...I was not planning on adding corals until winter. I wanted to make sure things are well established and my live rock is nice a coraline-d out! but thank you for that pointer. I was concerned my valentini would chomp on the hermits but so far as long as I feed mysis twice daily (i use a pipet since i only have two fish) he doesnt go for some hard shell snacks.

I've had several snails come in with coraline on their shells and occasionally I'll scrape it off the overflow in order to "spread" it out some...barely a spot or two on the rocks! But, those spots are slowly getting larger! But to be fair, I was battling dinos for about a year so my nutrient parameters were out of whack which probably didn't help...I was keeping a dirty tank to fight the dinos and wasn't doing water changes, so my calcium, etc...weren't great. Now, I'm back to a normal water change schedule and can see the coraline on the overflow increasing!Have you asked your LFS for some wall scrapings?? I heard you can take those, crunch them up and sprinkle them on your rocks and it helps!
yep
