Wanti g to upgrade from my 32 led biocube. not a ton of space in the area so looking at 3-4 tanks. unless someone has one i should look into. thanks for your time.

SCA 50 gallon Starfire

red sea max e 170

fusion lagoon 50

might consider jbj 45 rimless.

I guess it depends if you want to go all in one or not
I think the SCA is not. Thee JBJ is AIO.
Myself I bought a JBJ 45 Gallon AIO and converted it to have a sump I should have gone
With something different but at the time I didn’t know better
Research more decide which way you want to go. Think about the different things, maintenance, ease of maintenace and so on. Others will chime in on what I haven’t thought of here

yeah thats why i was leaning the redsea max. can add the addition of the sump some day and comes with light. but the price is steep, others around 600 plus 400 for radon.

Have you looked into the new AIO offerings from Waterbox? Coming Soon but may be worth the wait.

Silver Marine AIO

Silver Marine
(Looks like it has a compartment back with filter socks but also the ability to run a sump. Will be interested in the options here as I too have a 29G Biocube right now and want to upgrade.)

Platinum Reef 70.2 (24" cube with sump)

Do you have space restrictions? If not I'd say get the SCA and the biggest sump you can fit. If you are going for a sumpless AIO then I think the 50 lagoon is amazing. I have owned several sumpless AIO tanks, and just bought a 50 lagoon. The dimensions on it are great.

Another couple to consider;
  • Versa 42
  • JBJ Flat

i didnt love the overflow location of the versa. the lagoon is nice wish it was an aditional $150 to ship. cant find it local. but its probabky in the lead currently. with stand and light thought id be close to the redsea max e 170

I ws about to pull the trigger on the I'M 50 lagoon but waterbox announced the new line so I'm waiting on the 50.3 now.

I was in the same position. I gave IM a quick call. They connected me with a local store that sells the tank. IM shipped the tank to the local store for free. So the cost was $600 plus some tax.

my research on price has led me to this

fusion 50 -$1709
$750 tank
$600 stand
photon 16 $359

Nuvo 40 -$1059- :( only 8 gallon upgrade
$350 tank
$350 stand
$359 photon 16

max E 170-$1519

SCA 50- $1059
$695 tank and stand and sump and sump equip.
$359 photon 16

75.2 waterbox -$1708
$1349 tank and stand and sump
$359 photon 16
still would need sump equipment

You could probably find a stand elsewhere and modify it. Those prices fo stands are insane
