I recently had a new cherry red colored slimy algae that looks a little fuzzy. Not sure where it came from. Should I be worried? I'm going to get some pics tonight. The system is around 7 months old, 75 gal 20 gal sump. I'll run some test too but none of the sps, lps or the anemone is moving, closed, ETc.

sounds like red cyano bacteria. you might find higher nitrates in your system. I have had good results using "red slime remover" from ultra life. it is reef safe not sure that it is causing your corals to close up though. I would see whats up there and then get rid of the red slime. good luck

Its either Cyano or Cotton Candy Algae from what you've described. And you don't want either.
