Hi All,
20 years ago I had a small 20g cichlid tank in university. Now I am thinking of coming back to fish and trying a nana (29g) saltwater reef and clown fish tank. I have no idea where to start and what is needed. I hear terms of auto top off, RO/DI, bio balls, etc. Is there an introduction you can point me to about what is needed for a small reef and fish SW tank? Does it need to be hooked up to the water lines in the house (not possible) for auto top off? I would really like to stat off small, but eventually move into a bigger SW tank.
I would be happy to get guideance on what is neded for a small 30g tank, what equipment, what supplies, what works well in a 30g tank and what is low maintenance and easy for beginner mistakes or busy parents
Also ideas on how to do water changes, manage salinity, evaporation and the chemistry on a small tank would be helpful. Basically a tutorial
When I had my cichlid tank 20 years ago, all I did was fill water that evaporated from tap and fed the fish plus cleaning 2x a month. Probably was not the best care back then ::redface:
