Super pumped. Just came in today. He is acclimating bow and is slowly opening and closing his mouth. Looks like it might have stuff right around it. Not sure if that's normal. Plan on keeping it in QT for 4 weeks or so. I looked at it pretty closely and nothing seemed out of the ordinary but like I said. I've never had one before. will any creepy crawlies be visiable? What else should I look for in QT?

Pics:

He's gone through a few inflate/deflate cycles now too. Going to pick up some silversides to try and feed him in a couple of days.

Yup. Those pics were taken about 3 min after I got him out of the bag. It closed up and he's been in QT now for about 4 hours. I can't get a good pic of the mouth now. Looks pretty tightly closed. All the tentacles are in the way. I'll try to get another pic later on 2 nite

Fed it some thawed mysis and it took it a while but it ate a couple. I target fed with a syringe and not a lot stuck to the tentacles. Mouth opened up and closed tight though for the three or so shrimp it got. Phone is charging. I'll get more pics.

I would avoid feed him Fish food or silverside. Rather, I would use food for human usage. Avoid food that is smelly (spoiled). Anemone that eat spoiled food will not do well. I am sure that a lot of anemones died when the eat smelly Silverside.

Going to pick up some clams for my puffer too. I'll give him some meaty bits. Last update With picks. I think I'm in the clear. Looking much better today. I paid for a small one. Was supposed to only be 2 inches in diameter. I'm pretty happy that it's turned out so well. I don't notice any bugs or anythinG crawling on it. Should I keep up with slightly more frequent feedings (3x a week versus 1x) while he's in qt? I have some really basic simple leds, probably not enough to be encourage growth.

I would just let it be and not feed it for a few days... most people only feed twice a week. I for one never feed mine anymore... it has been three months sine the last time I fed them.

Sooooooo I assumes he was a goner and almost threw him out last night. Here he is last night:

But good thing I didn't. Here he is this morning:

What's the deal? Here are the pirates for what I can test for:
Ammonia 0
Trites 0
Trates 0-5
Salinity 1.024
temp 81
ph 8.0

Its a 15 gallon qt tank with 2 other clowns. They won't go anywhere near him yet. I have fed him tiny bits of shrimp every other day and do a 30% water change every 3 days matching temp and salinity before I do it. It's running a sponge filter with a hob power filter for a 20 gallon for flow and carbon. I thought for sure he was a goner last night!

I'm going to get an alkalinity test anyways today. If there is another parameter that would help let me know. And I will go get it

I run my temps around 75 and my salinity around 1.026-27. If possible bring the temps down under 80 and the salinity up. Also, they like to attach to rock, so if it's not already attached, torn of the pumps and let it find a crevice in the rock to attach its foot to.
