Hello! I am returning to the reef world after about a 3 year hiatus. My question to all of you… what would you consider the best advances in our hobby in the last few years? No matter if it’s tech, gear, chemistry, husbandry… I want to know what, if anything, that I may have missed. Looking forward to hearing what you all think. Thank you for your comments. ;Cyclops

Sidenote: My previous system (5 years) was a 29 gallon mixed reef with Ecotech Radion XR30 (Corallab mixed reef schedule), MP10, Reef link, Ecotech backup battery and a Aquafuge 2 for skimmer and reverse lighted refugium, running Red Sea Coral Pro salt and mixed reef recipe. Looking to do another tank but want to do 2 part this time and try to keep it simple. ;Pompus

Best advances-
Lighting
Dosing
Filtration

Anything in particular that stands out that would be good to look at or research?
Lights-Orphek OR3 sky blue or Blue Plus

Dosing- Red Sea or GHL units

Lots of new tech to manage the export of Nitrates and Phosphates.

IMO, managing those exports separates the men from the boys on the success scale
