I have been looking to get a salt water aquarium for quite a while, and have now decided to do it. I have been considering buying the coralife biocube 29g, what are your opinions on this tank for a starter?

Welcome home, you'll love it here!

I think it's a great size. Big enough that it's somewhat forgiving but not overly large that it is overly expensive or difficult to maintain.

Welcome to Reef2Reef! The 29 biocube is a great all in one tank for a starter. It has several upgrades you can add later on as you learn too, which is nice.

Wlecome! And yes, they are awesome tanks. I have a 29, as well as a 14. Easy to maintain

I've ordered the 29g, are there any upgrades I need right off the bat? Once I get the tank what are my next steps to get it ready?

One thing you will not need is a heater lol. What are you planning on putting into the tank? Fish, corals? Both? How much live rock do you plan on using

As far as setting mine up, I took all the bio balls out that come in the back, I took some small live rock pieces and put in place of the bio balls as well as some chaeto and some carbon. I had enough live rock in the display to use as my biological filtration.

Not sure on what fish yet, not sure how much rock yet either, I'd like corals in the future but for right now I'm just going to go with the fowlr tank

This is my girlfriends (really mine she)29 gallon with STOCK lighting, take the bioballs out tho throw some rock in there, ditch the carbon plates you have to buy for them, i use a 2 little fishes reactor for carbon and gfo nd 100 micron filter cut to size pads

Zoas xenia leathers look em up, just the number 1 thing when starting with sw is you have to and i mean really have to invest or get rodi water for water changes nd topping off evaporated water

Where do you get Rodi water? Would I need to get something that circulates the water if I got softys?

Once the tank gets here what all will I need to get it up and running? Anything you guys can think of. This is all completely new to me I really appreciate help!
