New and running for 3 months!

Hi guys new to the community and reef2reef looks fantastic! Stay in the highlands of Scotland and I have a 40g long set up and has been running for 3 months! Got what I think is a “non normal” set up due to space constraints under my tank, got a canister filter with biohome media in it and a pre filter with 3 stages of sponges in it, what’s people’s thoughts???
