Hi guys,
We have recently put in an anemone two days ago and tonight is had fully opened up and our clown fish are trying to get under it. We are worried why it would be fully opens? Is it just adjusting or is it dying?

Hi and Welcome to R2R,

It does not look to by dying, most likely just acclimating which can take awhile. Anemones are strange they are not always completely open.

Just to rule out potential issues check your basic chemistry.

If the anemone is not opening fully in a couple days please post again.

:-)

Yeah so the top picture is currently what it looks like and the bottom is was what it looked like yesterday and now it’s fully spread out. I just thought there was an issue, Are they supposed to be open and spread out?

Thanks for replying :)

Anemones inflate and deflate, change shape, water exchange, which is normal. The size of the Anemone is also dictated by the lighting. An Anemone will appear larger to increase surface area exposed to the lighting. Too much light and the Anemone will appear reduced in size and may not open completely.
The Anemone looks pretty good in that image.

Congratulations on your new Anemone, and that the clowns took so quickly to the Anemone. :-)

Welcome to R2R! I agree with the above, looks good :) Just needs time to adjust to your system and settings :)
