I got an anemone from a local reefer. It was open and beautiful. I put it in my tank, temp and dripped acclimated about an hour. I put it (him) in my tank and he has not moved. He is attached to the rock, but he doesn't look happy.

How long for him to adjust? Is there anything in need to do?

How does it look? It will adjust over the next couple of days, may move around to find its perfect spot. Nothing you need to do just continue with ur maintenance and all that, the more u mess with the nem the more you'll stress it out

I just looked at him. He is definitely attached to the rock, but slumping down. Tomorrow is a new day.

Poor guy

Last night it was leaning towards the back in a hole. This AM more upright, but very unhealthy. I actually saw a small piece of tentacle floating in the water.

It is very fleshy, very limp.

I put the guy in my QT and after a few days he was gone. Not sure that I could have done anything differently. My water, lights, and flow are all good.

My supernova nem did that. I drip acclimated him for like 4 hours. He acted all weird for like a week. [ATT

So if a nem doesnt look like that, how do you know when to treat??

For NEMS their isn't any chemical treatment period
NEMS are delicate creators, some times more than d SPS. You just have to be patient and keep your parameters stable and hope for the best. It doesn't sound that you have owned many NEMS.

I haved save a few nems with cipro. Dont start telling me what ive owned and havent owned. You better do your research on nems and cipro. Hell just ask humblefish.

I'm quite well educated about NEMS. I'm educated enough to buy a 2grand NEM with confidence.

Well, this has been a thread worth starting. To get rid of all sorrow I purchased 2 tiny tank bread clowns. They are in QT and after a few weeks I will get me another NEM. not a 2k one though :-) I am thinking like a $50.00 one.

I know my little clowns have no idea hat a nem is, but I hope to get them well acquainted in a tiny dish.
