Hello and welcome to the forum! We hope you like it here.

That nem looks like it is just doing nem things. They are weird creatures and you can't really tell how they are doing unless they are all puckered up or spitting out their guts. I am wondering about your acclimation procedure, your water parameters, and what kind of lighting and par its under. A lot of questions there can help most of us give you some solid advice. Nems really are interesting creatures though and do whatever they want. Make sure you have guards on your powerheads. I used some cross stitch plastic mesh for mine and zip tied them around the pumps. THey work like a charm.

Welcome @Potter36 ... my first thought is what @Aldrinlights touched on. Acclimation. If it just arrived, I'd start dim and ramp up lighting over a few days. They can be temperamental little buggers. Also, how long did you drip acclimate or did you just take it from the store bag and right into the tank? Keep in mind that Petco is not known for the best husbandry. It could be stressed or unhealthy. It is going to need to be monitored.
@Aldrinlights - great idea with the plastic canvas. If you bought some in black, you would not even notice it.

I actually have black ones on the 2 back pumps that you cant even see. I could not find the larger square in black for my main pumps at the time but it will be replaced eventually. My nem did get sucked onto the white one overnight when it was first finding its home and it was totally fine. Once I get a couple MP40s it will be even less noticeable. Been considering getting some of this as well.

That is an inch and a half thick. How would you wrap that?

I’ve assessed all levels again my pH is about 8, nitrite 3 is 5 ammonia and nitrite 2, are 0, and phosphate is 0. Salinity is about 1.023.
not to sure what’s going on tried feeding but won’t take.

Give it some time... might take a week or more to fully acclimate, find a spot and get comfy before it starts to recover from the stress of being at Petco and then moved to your tank.

Your post is a little confusing. If you have nitrite and ammonia in the tank then that's really bad and your tank is not cycled. Also your salinity should be 1.026

In the video it was spitting out some waste or zoozanthellae. The pic is adjusting to your tank. Keep, onitoring incase things get worst I wouldn’t feed it anytime soon.

So the anemone was looking ok for like a day and it’s been 24 hrs since he’s been like this. It does have mysis stuck to its tentacles and they were moving a little bit last night. But no other movement. I think it might be dying. It also looks like the tank is becoming more cloudy. I did a water change Monday night.
Any thoughts or recommendations?

This is a long tentacle anemone which lives in the sand, not in the rocks. It requires a deep sand bed of 3-4” deep.

Did you just move it to the rocks? Is that sand along the bottom or meat protruding from the foot of the anemone? If meat then I am sorry but it won’t survive. LTA don’t typically survive from foot injuries.

If it is just sand and the foot is bare with no injuries, read up on bacterial treatments. It’s the sticky at the top of this forum posting.

Personally I think it just deflated like. Is doing a water change. Check for the foot injuries. Don’t feed it and put it in a alcove where the rock surrounds it on 2-3 sides. Make sure the sand is deep enough. Alternatively you can keep it in a coffee mug until you feel it is healthier. And keep monitoring. If it continues to deflate then you will need to treat it. Best of luck.

I have crushed corals on the bottom of my tank not sand. The stuff on the bottom started I guess coming out of the anemone maybe yesterday morning. So I want to assume that it’s meat product on the bottom of it.

That’s looks like it’s coming apart.
I’d discard that before it pollutes the tank.
Sorry.
Nem must be kept in absolute stable water chemistry.

Healthy would have been stuck, even if withdrawn.
