Hey everyone,

I have a 40 gallon tank currently stocked with a pair of clowns, a six-line wrasse, a lemon damsel, 20 snails, a sifting sand star, a pink Haitian anemone and a green bubble tip. My clowns were my first saltwater fish I’ve owned and I’ve had them for a couple of months now. My newest additions are my anemones which I actually just added last night. I was quite shocked how high the salinity of the water was from the tank they were in at the store, so I’m hoping they’ll adjust fine. I increased from 1.022 to 1.023 last night, and after reading a little bit more it sounds like the anemones would do better at 1.025? My bubble tip moved and is now clinging to the side of my rock. Last night my pink Haitian was moving quite a bit, and was even on the tank wall at one point. Woke up this morning and he’s upside down? Looking to see what you all recommend I do, and if I should increase my salinity what’s the easiest and least stressful way to do that for my fish?
Thanks!!

Hi, welcome to the forum! Nice anemones, i think i would let the anemones adjust a bit before switching the salinity any more. Easy way to raise salinity is by letting the water evaporate and instead of adding freshwater just add saltwater at .001 degree higher than your water.

Always use RODI water as well. Looks like a new tank though and its always good to let a tank age to around 9 months before adding any anemone because the tank will gain more biological stability

Welcome.
Not sure you are aware, but condis do not usually host clowns. They may take to the bubble tips though. Get that salinity up slowly and feed the nems a few times a week. Good luck!

As mentioned ., not the anemone for clown symbiosis and hopefully you were not misled.
If it’s moving around, it is likely due to too much light and/or flow
